Procyanidins are a condensed tannin, and part of the category of Proanthocyanidins (PACs). A-type and B-type are the two major categories of procyanidins. A-type compounds contain two inter-flavan bonds between at least one set of the epicatechin/catechin sub-units. B-type compounds contain only a single inter-flavan bond between all sub-units. 

Procyanidins are a popular natural antioxidant and show interesting pharmacological properties such as the insulin resistance inhibiting properties of the cinnamon PACs.
