Abstract
Cyantraniliprole (CAS 736994-63-1) is a carboxamide diamide insecticide. It belongs to the ryanoid class and works as a powerful tool against many pests.
This molecule is very similar to chlorantraniliprole. The only difference is that a chlorine atom on the phenyl ring is replaced by a cyano group. However, this small change gives cyantraniliprole better systemic movement inside plants and broader activity.
Cyantraniliprole acts as a ryanodine receptor agonist. It overstimulates the ryanodine receptors in insect muscle cells. This causes the release of stored calcium, leading to muscle paralysis and eventual death of the insect. Because of this unique mode of action, it effectively controls pests that have developed resistance to other insecticide classes.
Farmers use cyantraniliprole against a wide range of chewing and sucking insects. It works especially well on pests like the Asian citrus psyllid (Diaphorina citri). It also controls aphids, whiteflies, thrips, fruit flies, and various caterpillars.
Growers apply it on many crops, including fruit trees, tree nuts, oilseed crops, cotton, grapes, rice, vegetables, ornamentals, and turf. It provides reliable protection through both contact and ingestion.
Planta Analytica supplies high-purity cyantraniliprole as an analytical reference standard. This product helps laboratories with accurate quantification, method validation, and quality control of agricultural samples.
