Hibifolin

Abstract

Hibifolin (CAS 55366-56-8) is a flavonol glycoside that is isolated from the flowers of Sunset Hibiscus (Abelmoschus manihot). Hibifolin has been researched for Alzheimer’s disease by preventing beta-amyloid-induced neurotoxicity. It also prevents myocardial and cerebral ischemic injury and possesses anti-inflammatory activity. Moreover, hibifolin also attenuated the pathogenicity of S. aureus, which may be utilized in the future as therapy for S. aureus infections.
