Ganodermadiol

Abstract

Ganodermadiol (CAS 104700-96-1), also known as Ganoderol B, is a natural triterpenoid isolated from Ganoderma lucidum  (reishi mushroom). Ganoderma lucidum has been traditionally used for increasing energy, improving immunity, and promoting health and longevity. Polysaccharides and triterpenoids are its two main types of compounds and considered to be responsible for its pharmacological activities. Ganodermadiol belongs to the class of organic compounds known as triterpenoids, which are terpene molecules containing six isoprene units. “Ganoderma” is the dried fruiting body of G. lucidum; it has been utilized to treat hepatopathy, hypertension, arthritis, neurasthenia, and bronchitis.

Ganodermadiol is an angiotensin-converting enzyme inhibitor, a potent α-glucosidase inhibitor, and exhibits anti-androgen activity. Find the entire collection of Ganoderma triterpenes here.
