Abstract

Ganoderma lucidum(reishi mushroom) has been traditionally used for increasing energy, improving immunity, and promoting health and longevity. Polysaccharides and triterpenoids are its two main types of compounds and considered to be responsible for its pharmacological activities. Ganoderic acids are the major components of the Ganoderma triterpenes. There are many of these acid monomers, including Ganoderic acid A, C1, C2, D, F, G, H, S, and DM.

Ganoderic acid C2 (CAS 98296-48-1) possesses anti-tumor bioactivity, antihistamine, anti-aging, and cytotoxic effects. More research is being done into the potential of this compound and its cytotoxic effects
