Abstract

Verbenalin is a an iridoid glucoside found in Verbena (Verbena officinalis). Verbenalin is the most common reference standard for standardization of herbal supplements based on verbena. Verbena (CAS 548-37-8) is commonly suited for promoting general well-being and mental health. The compound has also been attributed to promoting improved sleep. Verbenalin is a dry colorless solid.

The use of verbena in traditional medicine dates back to early Egypt.
