Ganodermanontriol – CAS 106518-63-2

Abstract

Ganodermanontriol (CAS 106518-63-2) is a bioactive lanostane triterpene isolated from Ganoderma lucidum (reishi mushroom). Ganoderma lucidum has been traditionally used for increasing energy, improving immunity, and promoting health and longevity. Polysaccharides and triterpenoids are its two main types of compounds and considered to be responsible for its pharmacological activities. While the anticancer activity of Ganoderma polysaccharides is related to the stimulation of an immune response, Ganoderma triterpenes directly inhibit cancer cells through a variety of mechanisms. These mechanisms include the inhibition of proliferation, cell cycle arrest, suppression of invasive behavior, induction of apoptosis, and autophagy.

Research indicated that Ganodermanontriol inhibits and suppresses the proliferation and colony formation of highly invasive, therapy-resistant breast cancer cells. Find the entire collection of Ganoderma triterpenes here.
