Pyroxsulam – CAS 422556-08-9

Abstract

Pyroxsulam (CAS 422556-08-9) is a pyridine Group 2 herbicide (i.e., an acetolactate synthase inhibitor) used to regulate primarily wild oat and broadleaved weed growth in cereal crops such as wheat. It offers good selectivity to wheat and effective herbicidal properties against acetyl coenzyme A carboxylase (ACCase)-resistant weeds. Pyroxsulam Herbicide inhibits the production of the ALS enzyme in weeds. This enzyme is essential for the production of amino acids necessary for the weed to grow. Spraying it on the weeds stops growth rapidly.
