Cyantraniliprole – CAS 736994-63-1

Abstract

Cyantraniliprole (CAS 736994-63-1) is a carboxamide ryanoid used as a diamide insecticide. It is a carboxamide where the chlorine atom in chlorantraniliprole attached to the phenyl group has been replaced by a cyano group. Because of this mechanism of action as a ryanoid, it is effective against pests such as Diaphorina citri that have developed resistance to other classes of insecticides. Ryanoids are ryanodine receptor agonists, and are effectively toxic to a broad range of insects. Cyantraniliprole is used to control these insects in fruit crops, tree nuts, oil seed crops, cotton, grapes, rice, vegetables, ornamentals and turf.
