Cinchonain Ia

Abstract

Cinchonain Ia (CAS 85081-24-9) and Cinchonain Ib are bioactive compounds found in catuaba (Trichilia catigua) bark. These plants are often utilized for their energizing and libido-enhancing qualities. Moreover, catuaba bark is considered a central nervous system stimulant with aphrodisiac properties and is used to promote sexual health, serenity, comfort, and memory.

Recent research has indicated that cinchonain Ia has antitumor and anti-inflammatory effects. This may indicate the use of cinchonain Ia in the development of nanoliposomal particles for cancer treatment.

Verify that you are working with real Catuaba plant materials and extracts using the cinchonain reference stadnards. Brazilian “catuaba” may be represented by more than twenty different species; however, the plant traditional identified as “catuaba” is the species Trichilia catigua A. Juss., Meliaceae.
