Planta Analytica’s journey began in 2002 when its founder, Dr. Jan Glinski, transitioned from the pharmaceutical industry, driven by a vision to preserve and advance natural product drug discovery. Frustrated by the industry’s increasing shift toward fleeting trends at the expense of traditional exploration, he recognized the need for a dedicated, high-quality resource to support organizations in their research efforts. Leveraging his expertise in natural products discovery, Jan established a core suite of services designed to address critical bottlenecks in the discovery process.
From the outset, Planta Analytica gained a reputation for solving some of the most complex scientific challenges. Evolution
Planta Analytica expanded into the agrochemical industry in 2006, addressing regulatory challenges for naturally derived agrochemicals. Many companies lacked the expertise to navigate complex compliance requirements, and our expertise in natural product profiling, isolation, and elucidation streamlined product registration and market entry. Through our exclusive reference standards catalog and analytical expertise, we continue to support regulatory needs.
By 2010, we entered the functional foods and flavors sector, responding to industry demand for natural alternatives. Our collaboration with The Hershey Company advanced research on antioxidants in cocoa, later forming the basis of a major marketing campaign. During this time, we introduced two essential technologies: high-throughput screening (HTS) for natural flavor discovery and a method development platform for food-safe manufacturing.
