Chrysanthemic Acid – CAS 10453-89-1

Abstract

Chrysanthemic Acid (CAS 10453-89-1) is a monocarboxylic acid derived from Chrysanthemum cinerariifolium (Dalmatian chrysanthemum). Chrysanthemic acid makes up the acid part of the group I pyrethrin esters, while pyrethric acid makes up the acid part of the group II esters.

Pyrethrins are a class of organic compounds derived from Chrysanthemum cinerariifolium (Dalmatian chrysanthemum). They are a naturally occurring, potent insecticide found in the flowers of the plant. There are 6 compounds that occur naturally in pyrethrin mixtures: Pyrethrin I, Cinerin I, Jasmolin I, Pyrethrin II, Cinerin II, and Jasmolin II.

Our Pyrethrin reference standards are purified using CPC, ensuring the highest purity available anywhere.
